The City provides curbside yard waste collection to residents living within the City of West Lafayette's Sewer District. We provide weekly services to houses and apartments of 4 units or less.

Please keep in mind the following guidelines:

  • Have cans at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.    IMG_6764 web
  • Branches should be no larger than 6 feet long and 6 inches in diameter.
  • Branches should be stacked at the curb, limbs facing the same way.
  • All other yard waste items must be placed in rigid containers or paper yard waste bags.   
  • Check the leaf collection page for curbside leaf pickup schedules.
  • No trash in the yard waste.
  • No soil, sod, root balls, or grass clippings.
  • If you hired a contractor to do the work, they are responsible for hauling it away.
  • Tree branches should be a minimum of 8 feet above the sidewalk and 15 feet above the street.

The City offers yard waste toters for purchase.

  • 48-gallon yard waste toter: $75.00
  • USED 48-gallon yard waste toter: $25.00, no warranty. While supplies last.

Yard Waste Schedule

Any resident within city limits:

  • North of Sagamore Parkway - every Friday
  • South of Sagamore Parkway - every Monday

We have added bi-weekly yard waste collection in the following areas:

  • Woodfield Estates
  • Sherwood Forest
  • Wake Robin
  • Huntington Farms
  • SR 26
  • Green Meadows
  • The Orchard
  • Pine Meadows

Holiday Schedule Updates

  • Thanksgiving Week (November 24-28)
    • No yard waste collection all week
    • Tuesday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Monday
    • Wednesday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Tuesday
    • Thursday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Wednesday
  • Christmas Week (December 22-26)
    • No yard waste collection all week
    • Tuesday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Monday
    • Wednesday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Tuesday
    • Thursday's trash/recycle route will be collected on Friday
