The Building Department will not issue a building permit until the project is approved by the Historic Preservation Committee. Please contact the Department of Development at (765) 775-5160 with any questions.
Building Permit Fees:
Base Fee: $509.00 (includes plan review, five (5) inspections, certificate of occupancy, trash and recycling toters), plus $2.00 per thousand of the estimated cost of construction.
The five (5) final inspections included in the base bee are footing, slab, rough-in, permanent electric, and final. An insulation inspection will be needed if using prescriptive UA. If any additional inspections are required, you will be charged an additional $50.00. For example: The footings require two pours. The first footing inspection is included in the base fee, and $50.00 will be due for the second inspection before the certificate of occupancy is issued.
Sewer Tap Permit Fees:
Sewer tap fees are based on the water meter size plus a $50.00 inspection fee. Click here to see the fee schedule. Depending on the location of the new home, a utility service cost recovery fee may be added to the sewer tap permit fee.
