Devon Moore
Social Service & Crisis Response Manager
Devon Moore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been serving the Greater Lafayette community for over 15 years. Devon has always been passionate about helping others, especially those who find themselves in vulnerable or crisis situations. She strives to ensure equitable access to needed services and resources for all members of the community. She graduated with a double major in Psychology and Law & Society from Purdue University in 2006. Following graduation, she obtained employment with Tippecanoe County Youth Services and was immediately drawn to the population and aspired to do more to help youth involved in the justice system and their families. Devon decided to further her education and obtained a master’s degree in social work from IUPUI in 2009.
In March 2021, she assumed the role of Social Service & Crisis Response Specialist for the West Lafayette Police Department. She was excited about the opportunities for collaboration between mental health and law enforcement with this innovative position. At that time, Devon was among only a handful of other mental health professionals embedded in a police department within the state. Devon’s responsibilities include connecting community members with resources and services as needed, crisis intervention, departmental trainings and serving as a liaison between the department and various social service agencies.
Devon is actively engaged in the community and serves as a member of the Tippecanoe County Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) collaborative, the Overdose Fatality Review Team, Tippecanoe Resilience & Recovery Network, the Homeless Prevention and Intervention Network, Social Work Law Enforcement Network, and the Drug Free Coalition of Tippecanoe County in addition to a Board Member for the Salvation Army and Caregiver Companion.
