The Building Department issues permits for residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the West Lafayette City limits.

Permit review is typically completed within 10 business days after we receive all required application materials.

A building permit is required for:

• All new construction of primary and accessory buildings, and

• Any alterations, repairs, or changes to existing buildings.
