City Controller

As the custodian of all public funds of West Lafayette, the City Controller has the following responsibilities:

  • City Budget - Prepare and monitor all financial transactions
  • Financial Records - Prepare, retain and submit financial reports as required by law
  • Revenues - Collect funds
    • Administer utility billing and collection
    • Publish delinquency notices and initiate lien filing process
  • Disbursements - Administer all expenditures of the City including
    • Vendor Payments
    • Bond Payments
    • Payroll
  • Investments - Invest funds in a responsible manner to maximize return to the City
  • Compliance - Monitor activities to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations
    • Maintain proper internal controls for financial transactions
