Public Comment Opportunities: West Lafayette Downtown Plan – Second Draft Amendment

Post Date:04/22/2026 12:43 PM

Decorative Graphics Comment Opportunity email headerThe West Lafayette Downtown Plan was originally adopted on March 2, 2020 (Resolution 02-20), to guide growth and development in the City’s downtown neighborhoods.

In 2024, the West Lafayette City Council approved Resolution 09-2024, requesting an update to the plan to include the Oakwood Village Neighborhood and to refine land use recommendations as development interest in the area continues to grow.

Since that time, a first-draft amendment has been shared with the public, and valuable community feedback has been received. That input has directly informed the second draft amendment, which is now available for review and public comment.

Key updates include:

  • Future land use recommendations for the Oakwood Village Neighborhood

  • Updates to better align and cohesively blend the original downtown study area with adjacent neighborhoods

  • Incorporation of the updated downtown traffic grid studied and accepted in 2024 (2024-0725West Lafayette Downtown Study.docx)

  • Clear policy guidance to help shape future development

This second amendment reflects the City’s continued commitment to public engagement and thoughtful planning.

This plan helps inform how growth should occur over time.
