West Lafayette Parks & Recreation Master Plan Completed
Presentation To Be Held at West Lafayette Library
West Lafayette, Indiana, March 6, 2017– The City of West Lafayette is pleased to announce that Parks & Recreation Master Plan is nearing completion. The public is invited to a presentation of the Master Plan, which is scheduled for Monday, March 20th at 5:15 p.m. at the West Lafayette Public Library, in the Elm & Walnut Rooms.
Working with master planning consultant, Browning Day Mullins & Dierdorf, the West Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department began the process of completing this Master Plan in the fall of 2015. It was begun with the process of gathering community data, and community feedback. Meetings of focus groups and stakeholders were held, a public survey was completed, inventory data was gathered, a needs assessment was determined, and finally a visioning workshop was held to bring all the data together on which the public was able to comment.
Now, this presentation will provide the public with a “roadmap” of goals and objectives for the West Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department for the years of 2017 – 2021. Ryan Cambridge of Browning Day Mullins & Dierdorf will be sharing our goals for these next five years, along with visual illustrations and diagrams of potential changes in community parks.
